On September 6th, 2024, a group of friends and I hosted the first of many community fundraisers—right in our own backyard in Culver City, California. In the month leading up to the event, we reached out to mutual artists, organizers, and friends who were eager to lend their time, creativity, and resources to help bring it to life. By coordinating graphics, vendors, set times, outreach and food/beverages - This experience allowed me to take a hands-on leadership role in event production, community engagement, and creative coordination.

The gathering became a true celebration of collective care and creativity, featuring clothing, art, and tattoo vendors; a homemade buffet prepared with love; live music and DJ sets; on-site screen printing; face painting; and a community film screening. What began as a small backyard idea grew into a powerful show of solidarity and generosity. Through the support of our community, we raised over $2,000 for our friends Naim and Amr in Gaza, providing them as much as we could to assist their medical needs and costs in response to the ongoing genocide.
